Eleonore Marguerre
sings “American Transcendental”
The soprano Eleonore Marguerre has performed in some of the finest opera houses in the world, including the Vienna State Opera, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Opéra de Bastille in Paris. Her repertoire is both wide ranging and technically demanding. Eleonore has sung the title part in “Manon” (Geneva), Armida in “Rinaldo” (Concertgebouw Amsterdam), Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni” (Tours), Konstanze in”Entführung aus dem Serail” (Leipzig), Violetta in “La Traviata” (Tours) and Marguerite in “Faust” (Dortmund). On her adventurous side, she has performed the Fox in “The Cunning Little Vixen” (Brussels), the protagonist in “Das Tagebuch von Nijinsky” (Bordeaux) and Ghita in “Der Zwerg” (Nancy).
Concert appearances have brought Eleonore around the globe to audiences in Japan, Korea, Norway, Holland, France, England and Switzerland. In addition, she has worked with conducting greats such as Christopher Hogwood, Adam Fischer, Bruno Weil, Eliahu Inbal, Ivan Fischer, Giovanni Antonini and Philippe Jordan.
Uwe Stickert
sings “Wie ein Bogenstrich”
The tenor Uwe Stickert commands an operatic repertoire that is large and growing. His many title roles include Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust” (Nürnberg), Gounod’s “Faust” (Bern), as well as “Idomeneo re di Creta” (Würzburg) and “La Clemenza di Tito” (Hannover). Other favorites include the part of Raoul in “Les Huguenots” (Nice), and Leopold in “La Juive” (Nürnberg). Uwe has sung performances at many important theaters and he is comfortable in roles that are as far ranging as Tonio in “Fille du Régiment” (Shanghai) on the one hand, and the Steuerman in Wagner’s “Der fliegende Hollander” (Budapest) on the other.
Uwe is also very much in demand as a specialist for concert repertoire and has toured Israel, China, Italy, Switzerland and France singing Bach’s Passions. He has worked with world renowned conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Daniel Barenboim and Adam Fischer.
Gernot Süßmuth
plays “Ophelia” and “Wie ein Bogenstrich”
The violinist Gernot Süßmuth has performed in many of the world’s most important concert houses. As a member of the Petersen-Quartet from 1983 through 2000, he toured frequently and released many acclaimed CDs. Later, together with his former Petersen-Quartet colleague Hans-Jakob Eschenburg, he formed the Aperto Piano Quartett, releasing the complete String Trios and Piano Quartets of Max Reger. In 2008, Gernot formed the Waldstein Quartett with his friends Mirijam Contzen, Ulrich Eichenauer and Peter Hörr. Today, the Waldstein Quartett is to be enjoyed in many of Europe’s finest venues.
In addition to his work with string quartets, Gernot has performed regularly as a soloist, appearing with Steven Bishop, Paul Meyer, Norbert Brainin and Martin Lovett, among others. During the Furtwängler-Tagen in Jena, Germany he appeared with Daniel Barenboim.
Serving as the Artistic Director of the European Union Chamber Orchestra, Gernot has toured Germany and England and performed a series of concerts in Central and South America.
Andreas Korn
plays “American Transcendental” and “Wie ein Bogenstrich”
The pianist Andreas Korn has performed with many well established opera singers from the German stage. He gave song recitals with Uta Priew, Werner Haseleu, Annemarie Queck, Ralph Eschrig, Bettina Denner, Thomas Möwes, Mario Hoff and many others. He has accompanied soloists of both the Staatskapelle Weimar and the Gewandhausorchester in chamber music concerts over the years, and has played cembalo as a member of the “Leipziger Kammersolisten”.
In the 1990’s, as a cembalist and assistant to Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Andreas performed in cities across Europe, including Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Madrid and Sevilla. As both a pianist and as a label assistant, he worked on recordings of Kreneks’s “Johnny spielt auf” and “Liederbuch”, as well as Uhlmann’s “Kaiser von Atlantis”.
One of the high points of Andreas’ work at the Oper Leipzig was helping to premier the works “Dienstag” and “Freitag” from the Opera Cycle “Licht” by Karlheinz Stockhausen.
